Course overview
This course builds a complete mental model of BGP—from neighbor formation and route advertisement to path selection, policy, scale, and resilient design.
You will learn each concept through concise lessons, Cisco IOS configuration, verification commands, and focused troubleshooting labs.
The goal is not to memorize isolated features, but to understand why BGP makes each decision and how to influence it safely.
Every stage ends where the next one begins: sessions before advertisement, advertisement before selection, selection before policy, and policy before scale. Nothing is introduced before the thing it depends on.
The labs use one topology throughout — three external autonomous systems, two enterprise edges, a reflected core — so each new feature is measured against a network you already know.
